Jazz Jennings, a transgender teen from America, will be having a doll modelled after her, consequently becoming the first transgender person to have their own doll! Though to Jazz, she views herself as a normal teenage girl (which we agree with, transgender women are normal women); we think this is a massive step in normalising the transgender community, and including them in a society where it’s slowly becoming more accepting.
We couldn’t think of a better person to be the first transgender doll; a young woman who has continuously fought for her own rights and for other people’s rights, we think she’s the perfect candidate! We hope this doll inspires more young people to officially come out as transgender, and live their lives authentically.
Here’s to even more transgender dolls being made! Laverne Cox, maybe? That would be lit!
**runs off to Toys R Us to buy everything**
So what do you think? Do you love that there’s a transgender doll? Against it? Why? Let us know!
