PewdiePie, who needs no introduction because literally everybody knows who he is, was just dropped by Maker Studios, a Disney-owned content production company.
The Disney owned company severed ties with him because of his anti-semitic comments, and they understandably wanted nothing to do with that. The hurtful comments were reported by some of the biggest newspaper sites in the world; like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, which makes perfect sense as to why they’d cut him off.
One video in particular saw PewDiePie hire two men in India to hold up a sign reading "Death to all Jews." Another featured a man dressed as Jesus Christ who stated, "Hitler did absolutely nothing wrong."
It has been noted that six other videos posted by PewDiePie since last August have contained anti-semitic slurs or sentences.
Some people, like Casey Neistat, disagree with the decision to cut ties with him, saying that doing so is a violation of free speech. Although he added that “you can say whatever you want, but at times there will be consequences for it”. You can see Casey’s full video on here on the matter:
