We think it's fair to say that Tyler Oakley is celebrating Valentine’s Day a bit differently this year.
In a collaboration with Heard Well - the record label founded by Connor Franta specialising in compilation albums via your favourite YouTube stars - the 27-year-old online star has compiled 13 of his favourite breakup songs, in an album appropriately titled Break-Up Jams. In true Tyler fashion, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood, the nonprofit reproductive health organisation that has recently copped a lot of backlash following the election of POTUS Donald Trump. At this stage, neither a release date or track list has been announced.
Tyler says, "Whether you’re in a relationship or not, Valentine’s Day is the worst. Roses? They die. Chocolates? They expire. But music? Now THAT is a way to celebrate that lasts forever. With songs that help you articulate heartbreak, or give you the power to overcome, Break-up Jams helps you feel the feelings that keep you up at night."
He explains that the proceeds from each purchase will “help provide breast exams, pap smears, physical exams, STD testing and treatment, information and counselling about sexual and reproductive health, cancer screenings, pregnancy tests, prenatal services, and access to affordable birth control.”
The compilation isn't the only item available though! Signed CDs, hats and cute bundles are also available! Check them out now!
But, the big questions remains: what songs are you expecting to hear?
